No Child left behind ?

I was sitting here thinking today about how the schools are so much different from when I was there. The academics are so much harder than they should be. This NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND act is really hurting our children, (at least that is my opinion). They are pushing so much at them at such and early age that I don't believe our kids are actually learning what there doing. Take this for example my cousin came home last week with her home work for 3rd grade and it was algebra, Now can you explain why a 3rd grader is doing that, come on how many 6th and 7th graders are having trouble doing that ? I really don't think starting them earlier when they still haven't got the basics of math down is going to help them learn it any better. There are times when my son comes home from school with homework that should be in a 4th or 5th grade class and he is in 2ed grade. They are trying to teach them so much because of the NO KID LEFT BEHIND ACT that every kid is being left behind. I just don't understand why they think pushing so much on them is helping. I talked to my sons teacher at the last confrence and she told me that the teach them one thing and then they give them a test on something completly different from what they just got thru pushing down there trouts. How is that helping them? Here is another example my next door neighbor is in 4th grade and she is learning Latin. Seriously Latin? How many 4th graders do you know that need to know Latin, I have a lot of problems with that. Please let me know if I am wrong but I just don't think that NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND is helping I believe it is hurting our kids.
